ATA Silver Jubilee sambaralu begins American Telugu Association has successfully inaugurated its silver Jubilee celebrations with a grand gala banquet on July 1st evening followed by traditional inaugural ceremony on July 2nd.
The banquet held on the evening of July 1st at Rosemont Convention Center, Chicago, Illinois was attended by politicians from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, celebrities from Tollywood, literary icons from the Telugu speaking states and other delegates and dignitaries from India and USA. ATA board members, committee chairs, Volunteers and members strived hard to make the event successful.
Illinois state Governor, Bruce Rauner, attended the Banquet. 'I have great affinity towards the Indian communities in our state. They give us great support and I am happy to be part of this special occasion. I am looking forward to visit India', said Rauner. Maryland state Delegate, Aruna Miller also graced the occasion and spoke with everyone in Telugu and shared her joy of being part of such Telugu conventions. Paripoornananda Swamy spoke on the occasion and called for a unity among all the Telugus to uplift both the states economically.
Central Minister and BJP spokesperson, Venkaiah Naidu advised all the NRIs to actively support the states and the nation. 'As NRIs, you have the expertise and resources. We need your support at both state and national level', he said during his speech at the banquet. Telangana Deputy CM, Kadiyam Srihari, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Ganta Srinivas, Roja, Jitender Reddy and other MLAs and MLCs were also present during the Banquet.
Stars from Tollywood were also seen shining at the event. 'Thank you all for making my movies big hit and I am surprised to see so many Telugu people under one roof', shared Lavanya Tripathi. Rashi Khanna, Musician Mani Sharma, Singers Kalpana are also seen interacting with the attendees. The event has also seen members from other Telugu Organisations such as TANA, NATS, NATA and others.
Several achievement awards were presented to various dignitaries for their services in their respective fields. GMR was specially honored for his services.
Various media houses from India and USA provided their special support during the ceremony.
ATA provided a lavish buffet for almost 2500 attendees during the banquet.
The event was officially launched on July 2nd morning by traditional music and vedic chants. All the dignitaries and attendees of ATA gathered in the main hall and sang both US National anthem and Indian Anthem. The cultural programs were presented by participants from both India and USA.
Several Vendors and businesses have opened up their stalls to enthrall the attendees.
