Hindu dharma will be Revived through Managudi: TTD EO Tirupati, Oct 27: Restoration of the values embedded in Hindu Sanatana Dharma from the grass root level is the chief motto of Managudi mass spiritual programme, advocated TTD EO MG Gopal.
Addressing the members of Dharma Prachara Mandalis(DPMs) hailing from the states of AP and TS, at SVETA Bhavan in Tirupati on Monday, the EO said, temples always acted as the epicentres of socio-religious-cultural hubs in the Hindu society since ancient times. But in this modern age, the people especially youth are hardly finding any time to spend few minutes in the temples specifically those ancient temples which are void of dhupa-deepa-naivedyam. To bring back the lost glory to these temples, TTD along with AP Endowments department has taken up the mass temple programme-Managudi three years ago and successfully completed five phases and now all set to observe the event in around 54,300 temples across the states of AP, TS, TN and Karnataka this year', he added.
Adding further, the EO said, conduct of Mangala Kaisika Dwadasi in around 10 dalitawadas of every district on November 4, procurement of the sacred Bilwa Dalam by engaging labour of the native localities and distributing them to pilgrims in all Lord Shiva temples on the auspicious day of Karthika Pournami on November 6, conduct of Karthika Vanabhojanams, distribution of holy flags with an impression of 'Omkaram' to each and every temple are going to be the unique activities in the sixth phase of Managudi, he maintained.
TTD EO called upon the villagers of various localities, Srivari Seva volunteers and the members of Hindu Dharma Prachara Mandalis to voluntarily take part in this mass religious event and make it a grand success. "Recently our team of officials who have visited Hudud affected places in the districts of Vizag, Vijayanagaram and Srikakulum have identified 91 temples on whole in these three districts which have lost their glory due to the cyclone. TTD will take up the revival of these temples as a part of its chief objective of the promotion of Hindu Sanatana Dharma', he added.
Principal Secretary of Endowments for the State of Telangana suggested that the children should also be involved in the Managudi programme and elocution and essay writing competitions may be conducted to extract their awareness and knowledge about our temples.
