TS Govt reduces Property Tax in GHMC limits Hyderabad, Dec 31 (INN): The Telangana Government has decided to reduce the Property Tax in the limits of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting held by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the State Secretariat on Thursday. Besides decreasing the Property Tax, the Chief Minister also discussed the issue of waiving off water and electricity dues.
According to sources, those who were paying Rs. 1200 towards Property Tax will now have to pay just Rs. 101. The decision is likely to benefit about 8 lakh house owners in the GHMC limits. It would put a burden of Rs. 423 crore on the State's exchequer. The GO to waive off water and electricity bills is likely to be issued in a few days.
