Army Day celebrated in Secunderabad Secunderabad, January 15th 2019: On the occasion of Army Day, Major General N Srinivas Rao, Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh and Brigadier MD Upadhyay laid a wrath at the Army memorial (Veerula Sainik Smarak) in Secunderabad on Tuesday.
Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.
CDM CELEBRATES ARMY DAY
College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad celebrated 71st Army Day with traditional fervour. Army officers of Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) showcased glorious history and capabilities of Indian Army with celebrations attended by officers of three services and other staff members. On this occasion Major General Sandeep Sharma, Commandant, CDM addressed the officers.
CDM is a premier tri services institute imparting training to future leadership of three services and nominated officers of friendly foreign countries. At present 154 officers from three services including 11 officers from friendly foreign countries are undergoing course at the college.
