Betting remarks attract Penal action, YCP Hyderabad, May 3: Demanding serious action against chief minister Chandrababu Naidu for his remarks in an audio encouraging wagering, YSRCP has said that the TDP is on the brink disintegration as a powerful group is about to desert it after the results.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said, 'Chandrababu Naidu in the audio clip was telling his cadre to wager as odds are favouring TDP in the Satta and Matka (illegal betting) market.
This bravado is only to keep his flock together as they are ready to desert him as a pressure group has been closing closely monitoring and watching the situation, the details of which are known to the Chandrababu Naidu. The comments on wagering were aimed at providing a booster dose to the sinking boat. A revolt is brewing within the TDP which will take shape after the results, he said.
Penal action should be taken against Chandarababu Naidu for his remarks on encouraging betting despite being the chief minister who is has 40 years of public life behind him, he said.
With no one ready to support him he has been resorting to various gimmicks from complaining against the EVMs to the kicking up a row on review meetings to somehow shifting the blame of losing the election on others and when his flock became restless he took up the gamble of good odds for TDP to keep them in good humour.
The man with such a long public life speaking about betting should be booked under relevant sections, he said. He has been overreacting on the Election Commission decisions forgetting the decorum of the Chair he is on.
When EC has transferred DGP on an earlier occasion Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy took it gracefully like a statesman while Chandrababu has been crying foul on the transfers and even moved court. YSRCP, on the contrary, has to be angry as the DGP was not removed despite complaints, he said.
