Gang of teen-aged thieves nabbed Visakhapatnam, Nov 18 (INN): Visakhapatnam Three-Town sleuths on Thursday broke a gang of teenaged thieves and recovered stolen property worth about Rs one crore from the possession. According to Inspector Shaik Hussain, the gang of four 19-year-olds, are accused of many robberies. The gang was caught when a tip-off alerted the police about one Gumpini Naga Raju being involved in the recent spate of robberies. Naga Raju hails and was caught in Visakhapatnam district.
During interrogation, he revealed the names of his accomplices who were subsequently nabbed by the Srikakulam police. The other three have been identified as Sarika Ramakrishna, Estham Naidu and Hari Krishna. The police managed to recover gold weighing about 1.25 kilogram, 5 kilo grams of silver articles, 1,515 diamonds and 500 other precious stones from their possession. The conservatively estimated value of these recovered stolen property is put at Rs one crore.
The four gang members also revealed the names of others who had bought the stolen property from them and selling these stolen goods. The others have been identified as Nagabushanam (35), Suribabu (40) and Appala Raju (25). They all hail from Srikakulam district. A case has been registered under section 457 and 380 IPC against the accused. Further investigations are on.
