Labour officer, assistant in ACB net Vijayawada, April 26 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths nabbed the Gudivada Town Assistant Labour Officer red-handed when he demanded and accepted Rs 5000 from a person as bribe for doing an official favour late on Monday night.
According to ACB officials, the accused officer was identified as Yandamuri Ravishekara Kumar (31), who is the Assistant Labour Officer in Gudivada Town. Kumar was caught red-handed when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 5,000 as bribe from a person for agreeing to drop further action pertaining to the show cause notice given to the complainant`s firm and for not filing a case in the court.
The accused officer, after receiving the bribe, had handed it over to Challa Chinna Kondaiah, his personal assistant for safe custody.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs 5,000 was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of Kondaiah at his instance. Chemical test conducted on right hand fingers and inner linings of left side upper shirt pocket of Kondaiah and left hand fingers of Ravisekhar yielded positive results.
Both the accused officers Y Ravishekara Kumar and Challa Chinna Kondaiah were arrested and will be produced before the Honorable Court for Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Vijayawada.
