Chain snatchers arrested, 225 grams gold recovered Cumbhum, December 2. The police of Prakasam district arrested five chain snatchers who involved in several chain snatching cases in Cumbham, Ardhaveedu and Kanigiri mandals and recovered gold ornaments weighting about 225 grams from them.
Speaking to media Kandukur DSP T. Shankar said that the accused T. Silam Prasad, P. Venkateswarlu, K. Balaji, T. Pitchaiah and R. Siddaiah, used to snatch gold chains from women on busy roads.
The police arrested them in Cumbhum mandal of Prakasam district and recovered gold ornaments weighting around 225 grams. The market value of gold is estimated at Rs. 7 Lakh. The accused would be produced in the court.
