DAC teams inspect pharmacies of major hospitals Hyderabad, April 21 (INN): Surprise checks were carried out today at pharmacies at 11 major hospitals in Hyderabad today.
These checks were conducted by Special Teams of Drug Control Administration, Telangana. Each team consisted of one Assistant Director and three Drug Inspectors.
The hospitals where these checks were conducted include, Mediciti Hospital (Shamirpet); Continental Hospital (Gachibowli); Medwin Hospital (Nampally); Yashoda Hospital (Secunderabad); Kamineni Hospital (L.B Nagar); Apollo Hospital (Jubilee Hills); Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Secunderabad); Care Hospital (Banjara Hills); Global Hospital (Lakdikapul); Star Hospital (Banjara Hills) and Sunshine Hospital (Secunderabad).
The teams were tasked to check violations pertaining to Overpricing, Quality of medicines, presence of medicines beyond expiry date, Cold Storage maintenance, Hygiene Issues, violations of Drugs Act 1940 and record Maintenance
Major Violations are reported in six hospitals and legal action has been initiated against them. In two hospitals, minor violations have been reported. In other two hospitals, unlicensed premises have been sealed and stock seized.
