GHMC Standing Committee calls for cancellation of GO 450 Hyderabad, Oct 20 (INN): Standing Committee members of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday passed a resolution calling for the cancellation of GO No 450, which makes it mandatory for any citizen building a house over 100 sq yards in the city to mortgage 10 per cent of the property to the Corporation. The Standing Committee meeting saw the members unanimously stating that the GO was anti-people, particularly for the lower and middle class people, who strive hard to build a house of their dreams.
Another decision taken by the Standing Committee was to take up discussions on the Report submitted by a Panel to investigate irregularities in the pre-monsoon desilting works on Nalas till the General Body meeting of the GHMC scheduled for October 28. The meeting also sanctioned the road-widening works on the 2-km Uppal-Nalla Cheruvu stretch. The work will begin shortly.
