High- voltage campaign at its peak Hyderabad : With the filing nominations for the second phase of polling closing on Saturday, the electioneering is all set to move into top gear with the leaders of various parties hitting the roads to reach out to voters.
The coming two weeks will witness hectic campaign, rallies and public meetings to be addressed by a galaxy of leaders of national and State parties and film stars.
Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Subramanian Swami and others would campaign for their respective parties in both regions.
The major contenders for power have already announced their manifestos, promising a host of freebies to the voters. The curtains will come down on campaigning in Telangana on April 28 and in rest of Andhra Pradesh on May 5.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi would address public meetings at Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar on April 21. Party president Sonia Gandhi would visit Telangana on April 27, her second visit to the region.
This would once again be followed by Sonia and Rahul's road shows in Seemandhra region after April 28.
Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would be visiting Telangana on April 22. He is likely to attend two or three public meetings including Nizamabad and Hyderabad.
Top BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkri are also expected to address election rallies in Telangana.BJP would rope in film stars Pawan Kalyan, Jeevitha-Rajasekhar couple, Sivaji Raja and others for campaigning in Seemandhra region. Pawan Kalyan is likely to share platform with Modi at the public meetings in Telangana.
APCC star campaigner K Chiranjeevi is embarking on a tour of Seemandhra region from Sunday or Monday. Telangana Congress campaign committee chairman C Damodar Raja Narasimha and other leaders would conduct road shows and public meetings in Telangana.
Telangana PCC president P Laxmaiah would also campaign rigorously or the party candidates.Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu would lead the campaign for his party in both the regions.
Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna would also campaign for the cycle party, starting from Srikakulam on Monday. Naidu's son Nara Lokesh is already busy campaigning in Seemandhra region.
Popular comedian Venu Madhav would also campaign for TDP.YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his sister Sharmila are leading the campaign for the party.
Jai Samaikyandhra Party president N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who opted out of the contest for the Assembly polls, would campaign on behalf of his party's candidates.
