Liquor bottle hurled at Lokesh's car HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed for some time at Pebberu in Mahbubnagar district on Sunday when some persons hurled a liqour bottle at a car in which TDP leader N Lokesh was travelling.
Lokesh went to Pebberu as part of his poll campaigning for his party candidates. The miscreants, who TDP leaders said were TRS activists, threw the bottle at the car but the projectile fell short of the vehicle of the son of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
However, in his anxiety to escape unscathed, TDP's Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha candidate Bakka Narasimhulu fell down. Enraged over the incident, Telugu Desam Party activists chased the attackers and set afire the vehicles used by the attackers.
Pebberu CI Ramesh suffered minor injuries while trying to restrain the TDP activists. Meanwhile, the attackers torched the publicity vehilce of BJP which was parked nearby.
Police registered a case and are investigating. Lokesh said later that he was not afraid of such attacks and would continue to campaign for the party in every village.
The TDP office in Hyderabad issued a statement condemning the attack on Lokesh's convoy and blamed the TRS for the incident and demanded an apology from that party.
