Sharmila Calls Naidu a 'Cheat'

HYDERABAD: YSR Congress leader Sharmila has found another weapon to hit at TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu with. She says Naidu has similarities with German ruler of the World War period'Adolf Hitler'probably because both of them were born on the same day, April 20. And she says that April being the fourth month in a calendar year, Naidu's month and date of birth together become '420', a Section of IPC on cases of cheating.

Speaking at an election rally at Yusufguda here on Sunday, the YSRC leader, in an attempt to shore up support for the party's candidates in the seven assembly segments and its nominee for Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat Syed Sajid Ali, disputed the claim of Chandrababu Naidu that he alone had developed the city. 'In fact, it was Naidu who had struck down the proposal for constitution of Greater Hyderabad,' she said.

Sharmila spent a greater part of her time trying to nail Naidu and how the Congress government in the state had systematically emasculated the welfare programmes initiated by the late YSR.

She said that when the Congress government became oppressive in the state, Naidu, as a responsible opposition party leader, should have confronted the then chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. 'He rather protected him and when a no-confidence motion was moved against the state government, he gave a whip to his MLAs to stay away from voting to help Kiran Kumar Reddy survive the motion,' she said.

Like Hitler, Naidu was a power-monger. He had no qualms about stabbing his father-in-law in the back to usurp power in the state. 'To Naidu, Loka Kalyanam is Lokesh Kalyanam. To promote his son Lokesh, he has systematically necked out the entire NTR family out of hte party,' she said and recalled Naidu government's allotment of 850 acres of prime land to a bogus company, IMG Bharata, when he was interim chief minister in 2004.

Coming down heavily on the Congress' politics of opportunism, she said that till YSR was alive, the party had treated him as a great man but after his demise the party leadership began acting vindictively against his son for floating a party.
