Nagi Reddy award to Attarintiki Daredi Vijaya Medical and Educational Trust have conferred the 'Nagi Reddy memorial Award 'for 'Best Telugu film' in 2013 to the movie Attarintiki Daredi.
The award was received by the producer of the film, BVSN Prasad who was presented with a cheque for Rs 1.5 lakh. The function was attended by prominent personalities from Tollywood such as VB Rajendra Prasad, Singeetam Srinivas Rao, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Venkatesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sailaja Kiran among others.
Speaking on the occasion, BVSN Prasad said, 'I used to bunk school and go watch films as a youngster. Movies have always been the center of my life. I first met Nagi Reddy garu in Chennai at Vijaya Gardens. He blessed me on the occasion and left.
Today, I feel extremely proud as a producer to be receiving my first ever award as a producer, instituted in his name.'
Venkatesh who also spoke on the occasion said, 'Nagi Reddy garu was our family friend. His name used to crop up daily in our discussions at home. He has made truly memorable classics such as Maya Bazaar, Patala Bhairavi and Missamma. His contribution to Telugu cinema is truly unparalleled.'
