KCR is misleading Muslims: T-Congress Hyderabad, April 22 (INN): Telangana Congress Pradesh Committee chief spokesperson Dr Shravan Kumar on Tuesday accused TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao of misleading the Muslims of Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Shravan Kumar said that although KCR promised to give the post of Deputy Chief Minister and three berths in Telangana cabinet to Muslims, he did not give sufficient tickets to Muslim candidates.
He denied tickets to strong aspirants like Raheemullah Khan Niazi or Feroz Khan although he is giving symbolic contest in seats like Charminar and Bahadurpura. Similar is the situation in Hyderabad Lok Sabha where the party gave ticket to Rashid Shareef.
Sharavan Kumar said that the TRS deliberately avoided giving tickets to Muslim candidates from Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Medak and Nalgonda districts where the community has sizeable population. He said KCR is yet to explain the strategy to give 12 per cent reservation to Muslims.
He also slammed KCR for targeting TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah. At one side KCR is speaking of political empowerment of BCs, but on the other he is not tolerating a BC leader who was made the TPCC chief, he said.
