KCR calls Modi, enemy of Telangana Hyderabad: For the first time, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao launched a direct attack on Bharatiya Janata Party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, dubbing him as 'enemy of Telangana.'
'I declare Modi as the enemy of Telangana. I caution you: two votes should be polled in favour of Telangana and if one vote is polled for Modi, it will go to Telugu Desam Party,' KCR said, while addressing a public meeting at Miryalguda in Nalgonda district.
His strident remarks came a day after Modi cautioned the people of Telangana to be wary of the family rule, an oblique reference to the TRS' politics of dynasty.
Taking umbrage over the BJP leader's statement, the TRS chief said that Modi was talking out of his sense and was 'reading out the script' written by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. KCR said that Modi had no idea of the sufferings and issues of the people of Telangana.
'Without understanding the problems, Modi came here and made meaningless statements like giving birth to child and killing mother,' he said and alleged that the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate was talking at the behest of Andhra leaders.
'Why did Modi not talk about Srikantha Chary's mother Shankaramma? He is hatching conspiracies aligning with Chandrababu Naidu,' he fumed.
The TRS supremo's strident attack on Modi reflects the fears in his party camp over the possible cross-voting in the coming elections. A section of TRS leaders feel that the people might opt for TDP-BJP candidate for Lok Sabha seat in view of the perceived Modi factor and go for TRS candidates for Assembly.
KCR lashed out at Chandrababu Naidu, terming him as Telangana betrayer. 'When Narendra Modi was coming to Hyderabad for Ganesh festival, Naidu said he would arrest him and now he shared the stage with the same leader. It is pure opportunism,' he said.
The TRS chief said that development of Telangana was possible only with the TRS. 'We will achieve 'Bangaru Telangana' by implementing the manifesto promises, which has many benefits for the people of Telangana.
TRS would provide free and compulsory education from KG to PG, houses at 125 sq yards, for women groups loans to the tune of Rs 10 lakh will be given without any interest etc,' he said.
KCR alleged that the Congress leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy and K Jana Reddy didn't have any affection towards Telangana. 'These leaders will do nothing even if they win or lose,' said KCR. He expressed confidence that the TRS would win 90 Assembly seats in Telangana.
He urged people to vote for TRS candidates--Amarendar Reddy for the Assembly and P Rajeshwar Reddy for the Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency.
In Huzurnagar, KCR urged people of Telangana to vote for Srikantha Chary's mother Shankaramma. 'Victory of Shankaramma will be a victory for Telangana's respect.
People of Telangana particularly people of Huzurnagar should not forget the sacrifice of Srikantha Chary,' the TRS leader said. Earlier, he addressed a series of public meetings at Kodad, Nagarjunasagar, Munugode, Nakirekal, Tungaturthi and Suryapet.
