Cong will form first T-government: Jairam Ramesh Hyderabad, April 24 (INN): Union Minister Jairam Ramesh on Thursday claimed that the Congress party would form the first government of Telangana State.
Addressing a press conference here, Jairam Ramesh said that so far he had campaigned in 30 Assembly seat and the response to the Congress candidates has been tremendous.
He said that the Congress would win 65-70 seats to form the government on its own. He also predicted that the Congress-led UPA would form the next government at the Centre.
Jairam Ramesh accused TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao of creating controversies around distribution of employees after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said KCR's statements were aimed at defaming the Congress party.
He said that the Congress party would focus on three major promises. They include increasing the retirement age from 58 to 60 years; regularising the services of contract employees who completed eight years and providing jobs to one lakh youth.
He said the Telangana Public Service Commission would be constituted immediately after the formation of Telangana State on June 2. He also informed that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will address a public meeting at Bhongir on April 26.
AICC SC Department chairman Koppula Raju and TPCC Chief Spokesperson Dr Shravan Kumar were also present.
