120 Yashoda doctorss attending to kids HYDERABAD: Yashoda Hospital at Secunderabad, which is always crowded with patients and their attendants, was even more so on Thursday with the injured school students being rushed there for treatment.
Since the news broke out that the injured were being brought there, mediapersons rushed there and were camping outside the hospital to provide update on the conditions of the injured.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other Telangana ministers visited the hospital and enquired with doctors about the treatment being provided to the children. A couple of Andhra Pradesh ministers, MLAs, MPs and prominent personalities like Pawan Kalyan also visited the hospital.
In fact, it was on the directions of the state government that the injured children, first admitted to Balaji and other hospitals in Kompally and its vicinity on the city's outskirts, were shifted to Yashoda Hospital for better treatment since those hospitals lacked critical care and surgery facilities.
'When we were informed that injured children were brought to our hospital, measures were taken on a war-footing. Doctors from our two other hospitals in the city were summoned and in all 120 doctors in different teams were attending to the children,' hospital authorities explained.
Even as home minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy and other ministers were at the hospital one after another to monitor the treatment and give moral support to the parents and relatives of injured children undergoing treatment, the other patients and their attendants were seen discussing the ghastly mishap. On the other hand, the kith and kin of the children started their long vigil at the hospital praying for speed recovery of their little ones.
