Man held for trespass into Assembly premises Hyderabad, July 30 (INN): One person has been taken into custody by Hyderabad City Police for trespassing into the high-security Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly building.
The suspect has been identified as Srinivas Reddy, a resident of Road No 10, Jubilee Hills. He is suspected to have entered the Assembly premises along with three-four persons on Tuesday night.
Senior police officials including Central Zone DCP Kamalasen Reddy rushed to the spot when the incident came to light on Wednesday morning.
Investigations are on to ascertain the reasons why they entered the Assembly premises. Police suspect that theft could be one of the reasons for trespass although there are no valuable articles or cash in the Assembly premises.
The trespassers have reportedly entered the Old Assembly building which has been allotted for residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.
The incident has exposed serious loopholes in the Assembly premises. Shockingly, the solar fencing erected around the Assembly premises was found to be dysfunctional. It is not yet known whether the CC cameras in the Assembly captured the footage of trespassers.
Condemning the incident Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that the Speakers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Assembly and Governor ESL Narasimhan should take serious note of the incident. He himself touched the solar fencing to prove to the media that it was not in working condition.
