Spurned lover stabs girl in classroom HYDERABAD: An angry college student stabbed his girlfriend inside the classroom and attempted to end his life by stabbing himself. The incident took place at RK degree college in Kamareddy mandal of Nizamabad district on Wednesday. Both the girl and boy are learnt to be very critical and have been shifted to hospitals in Hyderabad.
According to the police, Sai Kiran Reddy (22) and Neha (19) are second year B Com students. They have known each other from their intermediate days.
'On Wednesday, when the teacher was leaving the class after the second hour, Kiran took out a 15-inch long knife and slashed Neha thrice on her wrist on the left hand, chest and left thigh. He then stabbed himself in the stomach,' Kamareddy circle inspector Subhash Chandra Bose said and added that friends and teachers in the college shifted the duo to different hospitals.
'Neha had been showing interest in another boy, Rajesh, for the last few months and Kiran was allegedly beaten up by a few people who he thinks are Rajesh's friends. Angered over this, he had decided to kill Neha and himself,' the inspector said quoting Kiran's statement.
The police registered cases under various of the IPC including the Nirbhaya Act.
