Jagan takes stock of YSRC performance in Guntur GUNTUR: YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has come to power by making false promises and three media orgnisations (Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi and TV9) supported him.
Addressing party workers at a review meeting on the party's performance in the recent general elections here Thursday, Jaganmohan Reddy said that the gap between the votes polled for the ruling TDP and opposition YSR Congress was just more than 5.60 lakh and added, 'If I had made such impossible assurances like farm loan waiver, I would have been sworn in as chief minister.'
He further said that Naidu was cheating the public by going back on crop loan waiver and was now finding ways to dilute the waiver. 'While the position of DWCRA groups is pathetic and farmers are on the crossroads, Naidu is telling white lies day in and day out,' he added.
Jagan met several leaders of the party to chalk out the future course of action to further strengthen the party and take forward the agenda of playing the role of a constructive opposition party.
Earlier, the leader of the opposition was accorded a warm welcome by the party activists when he arrived at Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada. Later, he attended the meeting at Bandlamudi Gardens on Amaravathi Road in the city.
Leaders from Guntur-East, Guntur-West, Pattipadu, Tadikonda, Tenali, Vemuru and Repalle Assembly constituencies attended the meeting. Party sources said that he would take up review of Narasaraopet, Chilakaluripeta, Gurajala, Macherla, Vinukonda, Sattenapalli and other constituencies Friday.
