Household survey begins across Telangana Hyderabad, Aug 19 (INN): The ambitious Intensive House Survey (IHS) began across 10 districts of Telangana on Tuesday. In Hyderabad, the survey began at 7 AM while in other districts the Enumerators started visiting the households from 8 AM. The survey will continue for 12 hours in all the districts although GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that it may be extended for a few more hours to cover all the households.
All roads in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad wore a deserted look. Infact, curfew-life scenes prevailed on almost all major roads like Charminar, Khairtabad, Himayathnagar, Lakdikapul, Somajiguda, Begumpet, Koti, Maozamjahi Market and other areas. All RTC buses remained off the road and private vehicles too were not on the road. Petrol pumps, banks, educational and business establishments and big and small firm remained closed.
Nearly 3.7 lakh personnel are collecting the data of nearly one crore families in 10 districts of Telangana. In the GHMC limits, about 75,000 personnel are conducting the survey of nearly 20 lakh families.
