Nagarjuna Sagar gates to be lifted in 3 or 4 Days NALGONDA / HYDERABAD: Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) gates will be lifted in next three or four days. The Sagar reservoir is almost full for the first time this season. However, the officials have decided not to lift the gates on Saturday.
Sources said the officials want to see that the entire project is full and water overflowed. 'We will lift the gates after three to four days if the inflows continue,' official sources said.
On Friday, the NSP is just three feet less than the actual full reservoir level (FRL). The FRL of NSP is 590 feet and the actual level on Friday was 587 feet. According to officials, the inflows were recorded at 1,50,498 cusecs till Friday morning. But, the inflows were decreased to one lakh cusecs on Friday evening.
The gross storage of NSP was 312.045 tmc and the present storage was 300.32 tmc.
Meanwhile, the inflows to Srisailam project was 1,01,285 cusecs and outflows are 1,70,866 cusecs. As against the 885 feet of FRL, the present level at at Srisailam was 884.4 feet and the storage was 211.96 tmc against the gross storage of 215.807 tmc.
