Rs 5/- meal to be served at 50 centres from Oct 2 in city Hyderabad, Sept 13 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Saturday informed that all 50 Centres for Rs 5/- per meal schemes would become operational from October 2.
Speaking after inaugurating the 9th Centre at Liberty crossroads here, the Mayor said that the GHMC has taken up the innovative and unique programme for feeding the poor and those living below poverty line.
He said that almost all 50 centres have been identified and all the centres would be functioning by 2nd October. Later, the GHMC would launch the scheme of Re.1/- breakfast for which the proposals have already been prepared. He said the proposals would be placed before the Standing Committee for approval.
Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh said that he was proud to participate in this programme and appreciated the services rendered by the Mayor and Commissioner by taking up this innovative scheme. He said he has identified some areas in Goshamahal Constituency for the subsidized meal scheme.
Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy and other senior officials also participated in the programme.
