GAIL to support AP in skill development Hyderabad, Sept 13 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was informed by GAIL chairman and managing director about the follow-up action taken by the company on payment of ex-gratia, compensation for houses and property damaged in the Nagaram incident.
During a meeting with AP Chief Minister in Delhi today, GAIL expressed its readiness to support and participate in the Skill Development Mission being launched by Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister was informed that GAIL is ready to start a Skill Development Centre in an existing building near Nagaram and will contribute to various courses, faculty etc., For this, the company has earmarked Rs. 10 crore for its contribution to Skills Development in AP.
GAIL has also offered to set-up and provide ongoing support for maintenance of toilets in schools in all villages (as part of its CSR activities) where the GAIL pipeline passes (almost 900 Km). It has earmarked Rs. 4 crore for this purpose.
