Nothing to do with Metro Rail row: Naidu HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took exception to his name being drawn in the Metro Rail issue and said that it was the government and developer, which have to deal with the issue and it was not proper for his name being drawn into the issue, as being reported in some sections of media. He reminded that it was he who was instrumental in getting Metro Rail sanctioned to Hyderabad in first place.
'When NDA government had sanctioned Metro Rail to Hyderabad, I made efforts to get one for Hyderabad. Metro Rail expert Sreedharan was appointed consultant and feasablity report was prepared.
However, government changed and YS Rajasekhara Reddy took a different route against the advice of many. There was some scam, delay and finally it got cancelled and fresh tenders were called for. Now it is between that government and the company to address any issues pertaining to the project,' he said.
Stating they are facing several challenges, he said smuggling of red sanders was one. The Chief Minister said several measures to curb the menace have been initiated and called upon the smugglers to mend their ways and join mainstream else be prepared to face stern action and TDP government will not be lenient.
On YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy's criticism against government of not keeping promise of farm loan waiver, Naidu said Jagan has to first tell how many years his father YSR had taken to waive the farm loans and what lies he told the state Assembly.
'TDP does not have to learn anything from YSRC, Congress or any other party. It works with principles, system and procedures,'' he said while reiterating that every promise made during elections will be kept.
On the delay in AIS allocations between two states, Naid expressed his dissatisfaction and said it is hampering day to day administration. He said shifting of temporary capital will be done in a systematic manner.
Maa Vooru Scheme
From October 2 to Deepavali, Andhra Pradesh government will take up 'Janmabhoomi - Maa Vooru' to implement enhanced social pensions, NTR Sujala programme, five campaigns, NTR Arogya Seva (with treatment for 100 more aliments included), health camps, veterinary camps. It will prepare the future course action depending on the feed back during the programme. Previous version of Janmabhoomi is an inspiration to the present one.
