Will mega-camp favour Vaitla? In the film industry, there is a saying that you are only as good as your last film. The mega-camp in Tollywood has a history of shelving projects with directors who have experienced box-office failures.
Puri Jagannath was supposed to direct Chiranjeevi, but a disaster in the form of Andhrawala put paid to his hopes of working with the mega-star. Even recently, Harish Shankar was supposed to direct Allu Arjun.
But the failure of Ramayya Vastavayya scuttled the project. The failure of Dammu is believed to be the reason behind Boyapati Srinu's project with Charan not taking off. Srinu Vaitla is scheduled to direct Ram Charan for his next and understandably he must be feeling the heat.
Already there are rumours that Ram Charan, after the release of Aagadu, is being counselled by the men around him not to go ahead with the project with Srinu Vaitla. On the other hand, Srinu Vaitla is too big a director to be treated in such a fashion.
Either way, Govindhudu Andarivaadele becomes an extremely important movie in this context. The performance of this movie at the box-office could easily determine the fate of Vaitla's project with Charan.
Only Pawan Kalyan seems to be the exception! After the success of Khushi, when Pawan was flooded with offers from top production houses, he gave Veera Sanker, the opportunity to direct Gudumba Shankar as he was highly impressed with Veera Sanker's debut movie, Hello I love you. It is worth mentioning here that Hello I love You was a box-office failure, although well appreciated by critics.
