Junior doctors hold protest against contract jobs Hyderabad, Oct 1 (INN): More than 100 junior doctors held protest at Vaidhya Vidhana Parishad at Sultan Bazar here on Wednesday against the recruitment of doctors on contract basis by the Telangana Government.
The junior doctors strongly opposed the ongoing counseling for recruitment of doctors on contract basis. Speaking to media persons Dr M Koteshwar Rao, a representative of junior doctors association, said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had assured before the elections that it would eradicate the system of contract employees after coming to power.
However, the TRS Government has not only continued the system, but started hiring doctors on contract basis. He demanded that the government stop the ongoing recruitment process and hire the doctors on permanent basis.
Further, he said that he junior doctors want the government to want to drop the clause on compulsory service in rural areas. A few doctors were also taken into custody when they tried to enter the VVP office. They were released later on personal bond.
