Assessment of crop losses due to cyclone by Oct 28 Hyderabad, Oct 23 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Pathipati Pullarao on Thursday announced that the assessment of losses to agricultural sector due to cyclone Hudhud would be completed by October 28.
Speaking to media persons here, the minister said that the total losses in north coastal Andhra due to Hudhud cyclone are likely to be around Rs 2,000 crore, as per the preliminary estimates.
However, the complete assessment of losses would be completed by October 28 and a report would also be sent to the Central Government. He said that the State Government would start paying compensation to the cyclone-hit farmers from November 1.
