Sulking Mekapati mulls to quit YSRC NELLORE: A day after party's founding member and former minister Konathala Ramakrishna has decided to resign from the YSRC, another key aide of YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Nellore MP, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, too dropped hints that he is leaning towards BJP.
Proving this, while defending his earlier statement praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajamohan Reddy further expressed admiration for administrative capabilities of Modi.
'Modi put full stop to the hereditary politics by defeating the Congress. Our democracy has proved that it is the greatest in the world by making an ordinary person like Modi as Prime Minister,' Rajamohan Reddy said.
Giving further scope to speculation over his future political moves, the MP indirectly blamed his party boss Jagan Mohan Reddy for Konathala's decision to quit the party, saying, 'Jagan should have acted in a more democratic manner in the interest of the party and the leaders.'
For record sake, the MP made it clear that, for now, he has no plans to join the BJP. He had never met BJP president Amit Shah, he added. Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, he said he was staunch loyalist of YSR family and there was no question of he quitting the party.
When asked about his repeated absence at the party meetings in the district, he said being an MP and leader of YSRC Parliamentary party, he has to carry several responsibilities. Moreover, it is not compulsory for him to attend local party meetings.
However the MP acknowledged that there were some disputes among the party leaders in Nellore district. 'I am sure Jagan is well aware of things going on in the district,' he added.
While declining to comment over action being initiated against Nandayal MP SPY Reddy, and another MP Vanga Geetha, who joined with TDP, he said party would take the decision at an appropriate time.
Nellore ZP chairman B Raghavendra Reddy, Sulurpet MLA D Sanjevaiah and others were present in the press conference.
