Two held for 'Love You Hudhud' post HYDERABAD: They were not among the victims of the devastation caused by Hudhud but this duo found themselves in a 'storm'.
The CID of Andhra Pradesh arrested two youths, including a final year law student, for posting adverse comments on Facebook on Hudhud cyclone.
According to CID officials, the duo abused the relief measures undertaken by the State government and made certain comments that were 'anti-people'.
While Samudrala Uday Kumar, a resident of Sainikpuri, Secunderabad, was picked up on October 18, Chaganti Rahul Reddy, law student of Guntur, was arrested on Wednesday. Rahul is a supporter of YSR Congress party.
It all began on October 15 when the CID sleuths received a complaint in which the complainant alleged that some persons posted adverse comments on their FB profiles abusing people of Visakhapatnam and relief measures.
During the course of investigation, the CID found that Rahul had posted the message on his FB profile -- 'I love u Hudhoodh... the cyclone damaged people who cheated'. Officials said this comment by Rahul was regarding the defeat of YS Vijayalakshmi in general elections in Visakhapatnam. CID said Uday Kumar shared the same message on his FB profile, due to which he was also arrested.
Additional Director General of Police, CID, Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said Rahul posted irresponsible, anti-people comments after Hudhud that amounted to hostility between groups. He said Rahul is working with YSRCP district student wing in Guntur. 'Uday shared the comments with his friends,' he said. The CID team deleted the comments.
