KCR agrees to inaugurate ASICON conference Hyderabad, Oct 30 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has agreed to be the Chief Guest and to inaugurate the 74th Annual Conference of Association of Surgeons of India (ASICON) at Hyderabad International Convention Centre on 27th December.
The Government will also host a dinner to about 5000 delegates who are highly reputed surgeons from all over India and abroad attending the conference.
The Conference is being held for the first time in Telangana State. Dr P. Raghuram, Dr G. Laxmana Sastry, organising secretaries of ASICON called on the Chief Minister and requested him to be the Chief Guest.
The Association of Surgeons of India represents some 20,000 General surgeons and surgical specialists in all disciplines spread across the length and breadth of the country. The Theme of the Conference is 'Empowering Surgeons'Impacting lives'.
For the first time the President of American College of Surgeons, Presidents of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Association of Surgeons of Singapore, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as well as President of Surgical Associations of SAARC countries are participating in the conference. The Conference will show case the State of Telangana and project brand Hyderabad as a Medical Capital of India.
Dr Burra Narsaiah Goud, Member of Parliament accompanied the organising secretaries of ASICON when they called on the Chief Minister.
