NRIACP fund raiser for Hudhud victims NRIACP a division of Andhra Chaitanya Party which is a budding political party in Andhra Pradesh has arranged for fund raiser to help the victims of cyclone Hud-hud. The party president Ramanaidu Kantubuktha even before the inception of the party, has done several service based activities in his hometown Bheemili, AP. The fund-raiser had a melodious musical performance from tollywood playback singers Deepu and Usha, the show also had some good numbers from pop singer Madhoo and she got the floor laughing by performing mimicry as well. The event saw a huge commitment from Telugu community in New Jersey and was supported by friends and family of NRIACP divison belonging to both Andhra and Telangana regions.
Commissioner on New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Upendra Chivakula was one of the dignitaries and Guest of Honor was Miss South Asia 2014 Trisha Guduru. Mr.Chivakula encouraged people of the community and other fellow Indians to support the victims in cyclone affected areas and also help in restoring towns and districts in around Visakhapatnam. Trisha and singer Usha have requested all the NRIs to help the cause. NRIACP President Srinivas Barthavarapu introduced the guests. TV5 CEO Mr. Sridhar Chillara was present at the event and pledged $3000 for the cause. The goal of the fund raising is around $100,000 and through the event the team has raised about $15,000.
Prominent people from the community Arun Sriramaneni, Vamsi K, Damu Gedala, Raj Allada, Manju Bharghava, Ramesh Polubothu, Srinivas Ranabothu, Sudhir K,... supported the event and the cause. Several restaurants in Edison area offered free food for the event. Arun Sriramaneni gave vote of thanks to everyone who has participated, contributed, helped and to all the media partners TV5, TV9, Telugu People, TV Asia and restaurants who catered free food. Even before the fund raising the team has started working in some of the affected areas like Bheemili, and distributed cooking material,blankets, and basic amenities to about 400 families. The proceedings of this cause will directly go to the families affected.
