Right to vote for everyone who is eligible Ongole, November 20. Electoral Roll Observer and Tribal Welfare Commissioner B. Udaya Lakshmi held a meeting on electoral roll revision in the district in Prakasam Bhavan CPO meeting hall on Wednesday.
Speaking to media she said that as per the instructions from election commission pre revision of electoral roll conducted in all constituencies from July to October and enrolled the new voters those who do not have vote till date. Any body having vote in more than one place their names should be removed she said.
New voter lists are printed on November 13 and those lists are available in all polling stations. Claims or objections will be received on voter lists till December 8. Before December 22 ERO, AROs will verify the claims and objections on voter lists. Voters photos and information will be uploaded in voter list database before January 5th. Final voter list will be published on January 15. officers should conduct voters verification carefully. Polling stations will be provided in all the areas for the convenience of voters as part of the polling stations rationalization, she said.
Collector G.S.R.K.R Vijayakumar said that the ratio between the population and voters are vary. As per the election commission records the ratio should be in 67 percent. But in the district some constituencies Parchur, Chirla and Ongole having 70 percent voters. It should not be like this. All the officers should verify voter list of a polling station in each mandal.
The Prakasam district having 7935 service voters. In previous elections postal ballots were send to them but only 5000 ballots only received back. The perfect addresses of service voters should be collected by Tahshildars with the help of Betallion Commandars. Engage nodel officers in Engineering and degree colleges, enroll the students as voters who age is above 18, he added.
Leaders P Hanumantha Rao, Goli Nageswara Rao, K Aruna appealed various issues to the authorities. Additional Joint Collector I Prakash kumar, RDO Noor Basha Khasim, Kandukur Sub Collector A. Mallikarjuna, Ongole RDO K. Srinivasa Rao are participated in this meeting.
