YSRCP to speak for both States in LS Hyderabad, Nov 22 (INN): The Parliamentary Party of YSR Congress has decided to take up issues pertaining to both State of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the winter session of Parliament beginning on November 24.
The decision was taken in the Parliament Party meeting which was held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. 'We will be raising the issues of farmers, irrigation, Railways and other subjects and discuss with the concerned officials and ministers and play our part in the development process of both the states,' Party leader in Lok Sabha Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy told reporters here on Saturday after the meeting.
'We will bring to the notice of the Chair, the plight of the affected people of Hudhdud Cyclone and also demand that Pranathitha-Chevella project be declared as a national project.
Our Party President has further instructed us to broach the subject of the welfare of the people of those mandals that were transferred to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana in wake of the Polavaram issue. Andhra Pradesh government has been neglecting these mandals and we will take up the issue in the Lok Sabha,' he said.
Speaking about the defections, Mekapati claimed that SPY Reddy has taken a U-turn and did not leave the Party. He said he met Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu only to discuss the issues of his constituency. 'So is the case with Geetha. While SPY Reddy's issue is sent to Privileges Committee, we will press for Geetha's issue now and seek their disqualification,' he said.
'It is the Parliament that has passed the Anti-Defection Bill and if someone wants to cross the floor, the member should be disqualified and seek reelection, he said. Our Party President has clearly told us to discuss with concerned minister and officials the pressing issues of both States,' he said.
