Success eludes Tollywood The low success rate of Tollywood is always a major concern for the industry folks. While a few blame it on lack of good scripts, others blame it on poor marketing strategies and inappropriate planning.
The poor performance of majority of the films at the box-office is undermining the confidence and mounting a lot of pressure on actors and filmmakers besides causing huge losses for the industry.
Mahesh Babu - Notwithstanding huge expectations, Mahesh Babu's last two releases 1-Nenokkadine and Aagadu ended up as colossal flops at the ticket window. The failure of these big-ticket films put exhibitors in peril and also Mahesh under tremendous pressure.
NTR Jr ' NTR's flop streak continued this year too, with his most talked about film Rabhasa failing miserably at the box-office, due to lack of good content. Adding to that, the poor publicity strategy also made things worse for the actor, who now has many flops to his credit.
Naga Chaitanya ' Post Manam, Chaitanya starred in Autonagar Surya and Oka LailaKosam. Both the films were adjudged duds at the box-office, resulting in an 'image U turn'.
Nani - Once deemed as a promising hero, he too fell short of expectations and is finding it hard to deliver a hit. His last two movies Paisa and YRF's Aaha Kalyanam couldn't bring smile on the actor's face and sank without a trace, resulting in introspection on the choice of his films.
Manchu Manoj ' As an actor, he has always aspired to bring versatility in portraying different characters, but as a hero, he couldn't score a hit with his last outings such as Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda and Current Theega. Despite possessing talent, his poor selection of scripts is the cause of his lows.
Aadi Pudipeddi ' Despite a couple of hits in his kitty, Aadi is still struggling to set a permanent foot hold in the industry. His last releases Pyar Mein Padipoyane and Galipatam bombed at the box-office and he is waiting for a film that will lend his career a new lease of life.
Vishnu Manchu - Seems like lady luck has abandoned Vishnu Manchu. His Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda, Rowdy, Anukshanam and Erra Bus were four back-to-back disappointments for this actor.
