Transport Minister fires on RIMS officials Ongole, September 24. Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao on Sunday fired the officials for their failure in resolving the problems of hostelers of RIMS and directed the RIMS director Dr. P. Anjaiah to go on leave, if he cannot solve the problems.
He went the RIMS and interacted with the agitating students that there has been no power supply to the hostel for the last four days. RO plant and motor in the RIMS hostel building dysfunctional, they complained.
Transport Minister rushed to RIMS hostel premises, was shocked to see the poor maintenance of the hostel. A group of girl students told the Minister that they were scared as streetlights were also not functioning in the premises of RIMS and Hostel. They have no drinking water from last four days. Power cable connections were snapped, they added.
Upset with the negligence of the staff members, the Minister ire on the staff and warned them. He questioned the RIMS director Dr. Anjaiah why he did not take the initiatives to solve the problems. He directed the APSPDCL officials to restore the power supply and ire on medical college officials for poor sanitation facilities.
The minister said that he would take up the issue of non-completion of the civil works undertaken on the premises with his Cabinet colleague Kamineni Srinivas and take necessary steps to solve the problems.
