KCR promises fast development of Medak Hyderabad, Dec 17 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced different sops for the development of his native Medak district.
During his visit to the district, the Chief Minister interacted with the officials on irrigation, drinking water, roads and other related issues. He assured the farmers that the State Government would provide Manjira water to Medak farmers for irrigation purpose.
He said that as against the allocation of 4.06 TMC waters to irrigate 25,000 acres, the Ghanpur Anicut is getting water only for 12,000 acres. However, he said Manjira water would be supplied for irrigation of nearly 30,000 acres of land in Medak district.
Stating that the shortage in Medak district was due to diversion of water to Hyderabad for drinking purpose, he said the city would be provided drinking water from Krishna River.
The Chief Minister reiterated the promise of trifurcating Medak into three districts. Besides Medak, two more districts - Siddipet and Sanga Reddy would be created soon. He also announced Rs 1 crore for the development of infrastructure in Medak district.
Of this, four selected mandals would be Rs 25 lakh each while Rs 15 lakh each will be given for the development of villages. He directed the officials to prioritise the works related to roads, drainage and electricity. He asked them to take up projects for beautification of Medak town.
Speaking at the Medak District Development Review meeting, KCR asked the officials to ensure the successful implementation of Water Grid, Mission Kakatiya and Haritha Haram projects.
He said while Water Grid would ensure tap water supply to each and every household in the State, the Mission Kakatiya would review the entire irrigation system.
He said that by planting 230 crore saplings in three years, the State Government would restore the green cover which would eventually bring more rains and fertility of land across the State.
