Jagan accuses Speaker of being biased Hyderabad, Dec 18 (INN): Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasad Rao of being biased towards his party.
Jagan strongly objected to denial of opportunity to speak on the condolence motion of Tirupathi MLA M Venkata Ramana immediately after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's speech. However, the Speaker accused Jagan of creating a controversy and called his approach unfair.
Reiterating his allegation, Jagan said he was not given the opportunity even after YSRCP MLA Srinivas informed the Legislature Secretary. Accusing the Speaker of setting wrong precedents, he said YSRCP is in opposition today and tomorrow it may come to power and the person sitting on Speaker's chair would follow these precedents.
However, the Speaker charged Jagan of making wild allegations against the chair. "I know my responsibility. I have seen you 4-5 times to give an opportunity. Being the Leader of the Opposition, you will get a priority. But when you were not speaking, others were given a chance. Don't make this issue controversial," the Speaker said and directed him to speak on the condolence motion.
