New sand policy fast filling AP coffers HYDERABAD: Coming down heavily on YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the issue of Polavaram, chief minister Chadrababu Naidu has accused him of doublespeak on the issue and misleading the people.
Speaking at the TDLP meeting held at the Assembly conference hall here Thursday, Naidu reportedly expressed displeasure over party leaders from Rayalaseema failing to counter Jagan's allegations.
According to the sources, Naidu was full of praise for the land pooling system and claimed that he was giving the best package to the farmers surrendering their lands for capital development.
Naidu also expressed satisfaction over the changes he had brought about in the sand mining policy.
'Earlier the state government used to get nothing through sand mining. But after we came out with a new policy, we have got Rs 1,000 crore as revenue,' he reportedly informed the meeting.
The TDP chief also reportedly informed the meeting that the state government was planning to give gift packs of essential commodities to BPL families through fair price shops on selected major festivals starting from this Christmas.
While paying homage to Tirupati MLA M Venkataramana, Naidu told the MLAs that he was planning to allot party ticket to a family member of the departed MLA.
