All-woman police station opens in Ongole Ongole, December 19: A full-fledged and first all-woman police station was opened in Ongole on Thursday to specifically deal with crimes against women, ensure women's safety and security.
Women in distress should feel free to visit the all-women police station any time, the state government has sent clear message to ensure better safety and security to women, said Deputy Superintendent of Police B. Lakshminarayana.
One woman sub inspector, two ASIs and 13 constables would be available round-the-clock to attend to women in trouble, he added. The SI Samrajyam and ASI Indiradevi given instructions to new recruits of all-women police station.
