KCR wants to speed up Metro Rail works Hyderabad, Jan 27 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday directed the authorities to speed up the works of Hyderabad Metro Rail.
The Chief Minister reviewed the status of metro rail works in a high-level review meeting with the senior officials at the State Secretariat on Tuesday. He directed Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to submit a report on establishment of Special Protection Force at all metro rail stations.
He also ordered the acquisition of government land on all three metro rail corridors. Further, he gave nod for acquisition of 219 private and 25 government sites on metro rail corridors. He directed the GHMC to take steps to provide basic amenities at all metro rail stations.
Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy informed the Chief Minister that the construction of 1640 pillars have been completed while the foundation works have been done for 1736 pillars of metro rail.
