Parents kill daughter for falling in love CHITTOOR: In a case of alleged honour killing, a minor girl was hanged to death allegedly by her parents for falling in love with a man outside their community.
The incident which happened a couple of weeks ago came to light on Friday after the police took into custody Sriramulu and Parvathamma, the parents of the victim, Sri Vani. The police began investigating into the matter after the duo lodged a complaint on January 20 claiming that their daughter was missing.
According to police, Sri Vani (17) was a native of Nelluruvaripalle village. She had been in love with B Suresh of the same village for the last two years. Sri Vani was from a backward class community while Suresh belongs to a minority community.
Sri Vani's parents, however, strongly disapproved of the relationship and warned her against continuing it. On January 17, Sriramulu and Parvathamma took Sri Vani to isolated hillock on the village outskirts and hanged her from a tree.
They even banged her head with a boulder to ensure that she is dead. Her body was then packed in a bag and thrown into bushes, the police officer said. Sriramulu and Parvathamma reportedly confessed to the crime.
