Jagan launches two-day Deeksha in Tanuku Tanuku (W.G.Dist), Jan 31 (INN): The two-day Farmers' Deeksha of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began in Tanuku in West Godavari district with a scathing attack on the anti-people policies of the TDP government and the affected sections narrating their woes on the failure of implementing loan waiver and other poll promises.
In his opening remarks, Jagan said that he would stand with deprived and deceived classes who are bearing the brunt with Chandrababu Naidu going back on his promises. "We started the agitation at Mandal level escalated it to District headquarters and now this two day agitation is to mount pressure on the State to fulfill poll promises of TDP," he said.
'We will be the voice of farmers, women and other sections that were deceived and their livelihood shattered,' he said and invited them to the dais to share their experiences of how they were deceived by the loan waiver scheme.
The two-day deeksha is to highlight the failure of the TDP Government in implementing the poll promises of Chandrababu Naidu and the sorry state of affairs on the rural landscape with bankers refusing the give fresh loans and farmers losing the eligibility for crop insurance.
The blatant lies of the Chief Minister and the way people were deceived has to be questioned and being a responsible Opposition Party we will be on the people's side, the Leader of Opposition said.
