VHR flays Ponnala for taking part in TDP protest HYDERABAD:The participation of TPCC chief Ponnala Laxmaiah in a protest programme organised by the TDP a couple of days back drew strong criticism from Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao.
Hanumantha Rao, who has been indirectly questioning the working style of Laxmaiah, took exception to the TPCC chief taking part in an agitation launched by the TDP legislators recently. Laxmaiah took part in a protest organised by TDP LB Nagar MLA and BC leader R Krishnaiah.
Hanumantha Rao, who shot a letter to Laxmaiah and was released to media on Saturday, sought to know whether there is a change in policy of Congress party (to attend programmes of other parties). VHR said that instead of joining other parties' protests, the Congress should have launched agitations on its own.
Hanumantha Rao demanded that a meeting of senior Congress leaders should be convened to clear the confusion so that the leaders can clarify the policy to the Congress workers. He asked the TPCC to convene the meeting immediately.
