BJP demands probe into Mission Kakatiya, Water Grid Hyderabad, Feb 1 (INN): BJP National Executive member and former minister Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy demanded a probe into the Mission Kakatiya and Water Grid schemes of Telangana Government.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Nagam alleged that experts were not consulted on both the projects and their budgets were being finalised by the private agencies and contractors. He said the officials too have no role in the execution of both the ambitious projects of the State Government.
He also demanded a White Paper on the expenditure on both the projects. He said former Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah was sacked from the cabinet on the charges of corruption. But who would check the corruption of ministers T Harish Rao and K Tarakarama Rao as both are related to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao? he asked.
Nagam alleged that all the works were being sanctioned on nomination basis, he said that the TRS Government was resorting to waste of public money.
Speaking about the government's decision to shift Chest Hospital at Erragadda to Viqarabad, Nagam said that the hospital was converted into a General Hospital in 1996 during his tenure as the Health Minister.
He said it was illogical to shift a general hospital outside Hyderabad as hundreds of patients visiting the hospital would face problems. He urged all political parties to join hands to launch mega protest against the government's move.
Referring to the Chief Minister's comments during the visit to Monda Market on Saturday, Nagam said Hyderabad is already a World Class City and it does not need any scientific operation. He advised the Chief Minister not to spoil the image of Hyderabad by giving irresponsible statements.
