MAA TV sold to Star family Maa TV, the prime entertainment channel in Telugu, will now become part of the Star TV Network. Star India has struck a deal with MAA TV to acquire a stake in the leading Telugu Entertainment Channel.
The news was made official in a press conference attended by MAA Directors Nagarjuna, Nimmagadda Prasad and Star India Representatives. This has facilitated the entry of Star group into Telugu entertainment sector.
The acquisition would give Star India access to the highly attractive Telugu TV market and a market where Star has a very limited presence till date. Representatives of Star India promised that they would bring a revolution in Telugu television market with their exclusive programs and interesting content.
Speaking at the press meet Nimmagadda Prasad said the agreement will come into force once the regulator permissions are obtained. The name of MAA TV is expected to be rechristened after this development. It is known that MAA channel owned is by Nimmagadda Prasad, Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind and Nagarjuna.
