TSPCB celebrates National Science Day Hyderabad: The National Science Day ' 28th February 1928 was a great day in India when an invention in the field of Indian Science was completed by the famous Indian Physicist , Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman ,who researched on many topics of the Physics from which the Raman Effect became his great success and discovery which has been marked in the Indian history. He was honored with Nobel Prize in the year 1930.
To mark the National Science Day -2015, the Telangana State Pollution Control Board in association with Jawahar Balbhavan has organized Science Exhibition and Quiz Competition on Environment, Pollution and Water Conservation for school children on Saturday at Jawahar Bal Bhavan at Nampally. These competitions were organized to spread a message among the students, said V. Anil Kumar, IAS - Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board while inaugurating the competitions. He appreciated children's enthusiasm and efforts they had put in the projects and also advised them to implement these steps in their day to day life that would help creating awareness in the society as they are the future citizens of the country.
An exhibition of 112 projects by the students, showed their sincere concern towards the existing issues of environment. Around 425 students from 82 schools of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts have participated in the above competitions.
The closing ceremony was attended by N Raveendhar -Senior Social Scientist, TS PCB as the chief guest who shared the dais with B Sudharkar- Director & Special Officer, Jawahar Bal Bhavan and. Prabhakar- District Science Officer. The winners of the two competitions were facilitated on the occasion.
