TUWJ new body elected Hyderabad, March 1 (INN): The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) announced its new office bearers here on Sunday.
While Shoukat Ali Sufi has been elected as President, veteran journalist Hadi Raheel has been elected as the General Secretary. The TUWJ's new office bearers include four Vice-Presidents and five Secretaries. The Vice-Presidents are Mohd Shuja Ifteqari, Mubashiruddin Khurram, MSJ Vara Prasad and Dr Ghulam Abbas. The Secretaries are Shaik Ahmed Ali, S Srinivas Reddy, Mir Mohammad Alishan, Margam Srinivas and Hasan Irfan. Dr Hafiz Abdul Qayyum will be the Treasurer. The Executive Members include Zainuddin, M Sridhar, Ahmed Siddiqui and P Suresh.
Advocate Nazeer Ahmed Khan will be the Legal Advisor while former Home Minister K Prabhakar Reddy is the Patron.
The TUWJ was originally established in the year 1968 to strengthen the first movement seeking statehood for Telangana. It was registered under the Societies Registration Act (No 1464/1993) and under Labour Act wide Registration No B2220/1993. The TUWJ has resolved to play an active role in the growth and development of journalism and working journalists in the new Telangana State, according to a press release.
