Komatireddy demands Sagar waters for Nalgonda Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Tuesday called on Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and demanded that water be released from Nagarjuna Sagar to save crops in Nalgonda district.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the minister, Komatireddy said water should be released from Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal for Madhav Reddy project so as to save the crops in Nalgonda. He said that the Minister has given necessary directions to the officials to take required action on his request.
Komatireddy also appealed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to postpone the plans to construct new Secretariat at Erragadda and instead utilise the same amount to fulfill the promise of crop loan waiver. He said that the State Government has already cleared first installment of 25% towards the scheme and the remaining 75% amount should also be cleared at the earliest.
